As a mother of 12 I am so glad the police seized those medicated bath bombs. Its the most evil gang members that use those things ya know. I’m just so glad my children can go back to dealing with sketchy random people, late at night in alleys and drug dens rather then in a bright, well lit major intersection in Burlington. I want to commend the Burlington police force for putting their lives on the line arresting a kind old woman. Next up lets get those j walkers!!!

With due respect, it has been shown time and again that criminalization only worsens the problem and drives it underground where there is real danger to both buyer and seller. I was supporting decriminalization and regulation, taxation and education. Am not advocating for uncontrolled use nor access to minors. Only use of a carrot rather than stick approach to the problem. You catch more bees with honey than vinegar as they say and in this case, I still firmly believe that the lesser of two evils is to pursue the bigger picture and spare our legal system the burden of prosecuting people for crimes that have little to no real impact on law and order. Spend those resources on carrots – incentives to stop, education on the dangers, risks of participating in the underground market and so on. My two cents.

Anyone who defends the illegal sale of marijuana is wholly ignorant of the danger this drug contains in the hands of the wrong individual. As long as there is no control of the content of HTC in ‘mary joe”, it can lead to real problems. As for the writer who takes pity in the age of the seller, give me a break. What has age to do with illegal actions, whether the woman is 19, 69, or 79! The arrest is not abuse of police power, Mr. Lyons, it is protecting individuals from obtaining an uncontrolled substance that can harm some, especially the young.

Interesting how the dispensary got busted & yet within the last month a Medical Wellness Centre opened up with an open house that includes dispensing medical Marijuana. Do I smell a connection with the Medical Centre being connected therefore shutting down competition, hmmm.

I don’t know about you, but I feel much safer now. Tax dollars effectively at work.

This is a disgusting abuse of police power and authority. I have met this woman and she is not perpetuating any kind of dangerous activity and most certainly is not a threat to law and order or our society. That is why this stupid law needs to be changed. I am ashamed of our law enforcement for pursuing this in this day and age. Tax the stuff yes, regulate the stuff, educate the public with the funds, provide for rehab and medical applications, but prosecute an older woman for it. NO that is an abuse of power and shameful.

And Canada’s silly government thinks it’s going to eliminate trafficking with legal $280 an oz weed. Just like they’re eliminating counterfeit cigarettes with 100 dollar cartons.
