BURLINGTON, ON. April 5, 2013  This could be a landing pad for ET – or it could be the place where citizens of Burlington dumped close to $20 million.

$20 million and counting – and then there are the court cases and the legal costs.

It will look great when it’s officially opened in June – they are going to horn in on the Sound of Music Festival and hold the opening then when Spencer Smith Park will be packed with people.

This is – the picture of the week.

    I think this thing would have been cheaper if made it by welding nickels together, & paving the deck with toonies.

    There is no chance that the pier will be open in time. Even if the pier was complete today, the temporary bridge that was used to construct it would not be removed in time. After it is removed there is still site remediation.

    The fact that the joke that the pier will be open by mid June is still circulating is painful. It shows how out of touch the city is with actual construction practices.
