All the secondary arteries were bumper to bumper with people trying to get home. Observed on New Street westbound, single line of cars creeping along while bicycle lane remained free and clear around 7pm. Have not seen a bicycle on there for months! It occurred to me how utterly polite and law-abiding these motorists were. It would have been easy to say, “Ah, to hell with it”, and used the bike lane to ease up the flow of traffic. Instead, everyone stayed in their lane, listening to news updates and thinking about supper, no doubt.
