Donegal Drive residence home base for area drug trafficker, drug bust before that on Lakeshore. Are neighbourhoods at risk?

BURLINGTON, ON.  While the association of police chiefs ratified a resolution that would expand enforcement options for illicit possession of cannabis, giving officers the ability to issue tickets similar to those for driving infractions or jaywalking, it wasn’t jaywalking police regional police were doing on Donegal Drive yesterday.

A police photo-op – the politicians want their pictures taken and take advantage of every opportunity to get in front of a camera. The police do much the same thing – every opportunity to show the public what they’ve been doing for them is used. This week they scooped up all these drugs and cash.

In August 2013, the Halton Regional Police Service commenced an investigation into a marihuana trafficker from the City of Burlington and yesterday members of the 3 District Burlington Strategic Support Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Donegal Drive and seized approximately 460 grams of marihuana (over 1 Pound), 31 grams of Hashish (over an ounce), a quantity of cocaine, $3,165 CDN funds, packaging material and digital scales.

Police have arrested and charged the following persons:

Justin LIDKA (24 yrs) of Burlington charged with possession of a controlled substance (marihuana).

Michael CRAMPTON (21 yrs) of Burlington charged with:

Trafficking a controlled substance (marijuana)

Possession for the purpose of trafficking (marijuana)

Possession for the purpose of trafficking (hashish)

Possession of cocaine

Police look for patterns in criminal activity. Is there a pattern here? A drug raid took place earlier in the month on Lakeshore Road then another drug raid on Donegal Drive yesterday; are there links between the two?

Both parties were released on a Promise to Appear in Milton Court on October 8th and 15th, 2013.

Investigators remind the public to utilize Crime Stoppers to report any illegal drug, gang or gun activity at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), through the web at www.haltoncrimestoppers.com or by texting “Tip201” with your message to 274637(crimes).

Well done Burlington Drug Task Force. You have no idea how much better I will sleep tonight knowing that an entire ounce of both hash and pot have been removed from our streets ! Our city is full of “grow ops” and several hundred pounds of weed and you were able to “stake out” and capture two punks that barely had enough product to supply a decent house party ??? I’m opposed to drug distribution, but even more disappointed with law enforcement’s lack of ability to actually catch someone in the distribution network that makes a difference !

The real drug dealers are laughing at you and feel even more secure to continue their REAL business of supplying our children with drugs. Maybe next you could take on the ” j-walking” problem taking place on Lakeshore during this weekends Ribfest ?

Unfortunately the overused jaywalking analogy is a bit insulting to the efforts of the police. The details of this bust indicates that a substantial amount of drugs were removed (not just a couple of ounces) from our streets and out of the hands of children. People should also be encouraged to know that punks like those busted in the Donegal Drive occurrence, are being used as examples to deter the ongoing circle of the basic drug model in this city; 18-24 year olds sell to 12-14 year olds, then the same pattern takes shape as the kids grow older. The laughing ‘real drug dealers’ generally only laugh in the safety of their dark existence, and the only way to get to those laughing clowns is partly to deter the 18-24 year olds, by a justice system that has become increasingly less tolerant and more supportive of the police efforts than ever before. There is going to be lots of laughing over the next few weeks once the school year unfolds; more busts, more laughter; more busts, more laughter. Stay tuned, stick to the facts, stay off the wild analogies and keep away from children. Go Cops Go!

Never mind neighbourhoods, kids and families are firstly the ones at risk of suffering from adverse impacts of all kinds from all the drug activity in this city. If the drug activity was limited to adults only, then it would be a different situation, but, kids are being drawn into the drug world from very young ages, as young as 12. Notwithstanding the prevalent liberal element that condones drug activity in our society, the punks that traffic need to be deterred by a variety of methods, in addition to being busted. There needs to be a more fair and equitable playing field to appease people like myself, who are fed up with the chronic drug activity permeating our neighbourhoods on a daily basis . Newspaper coverage is good, but, should also include pictures of the drug trafficker, and follow-up information to conclude the story on the individual’s involvement in the drug business. All areas are affected and linked throughout the city. For example, the Brant Hills neighbourhood is an especially popular area for drug activity, and so are all the high schools, so, do not restrict your attention just to teh New Street and Appleby Line area. Also, do not forget about your local neighbourhood convenience stores that will sell your child all the ‘legal’ drug parphernalia they can buy. However, if one tends to be more of an upscale shopper, there is a store called Rock Universe which carries an exciting collection of high quality glassware and other delightful assorted drug user type stuff. The neighbourhoods are fine, its the scum bag coward drug traffickers that litter the curb, usually under the cover of darkness and secrecy, and continue freely to pollute our city’s neighbourhoods. I personally have had enough and I will be In Your Face. Go Cops Go!
